Happy Monday! For this week, I’ve been pondering the mercy of rest.
rest lifts bones - Luke Leisman
music of stillness - Sara Teasdale
In this vein, I’ve decided even mercies should rest. So for the remainder of August, Monday Mercies will take a short pause, and return after labor day (biweekly Friday posts will continue as usual). A time for authors and readers alike to recharge. Stopping renews energy.
In the mean time, watch for mercies - all around you! Mercies like meteors: they blaze by like a blink, out of the corner of your eye.
But also: halts anticipate action. Mercies will be back after labor day! Refreshed, awake, renewed.
Have a wonderful week!
Monday Mercies use an experimental writing form - the “three word mercy” to share a little lift for your week - a small reminder to keep looking up. To read more about what we’re doing here, check out this post.
Mercies are conversations, something you can do too. To quote my mercy teacher: Try it, you’ll like it. I’d love to highlight your mercies too. To submit your own mercies for potential distribution, email them to me at lukeleisman@substack.com!
